Birthdate: Feb 10 (Summer)
Mother: Snowmelt
Father: Mountainheart
Birth Stats: 143STR 213SPD 185AGI 88WIS 108SMR = 737
Pupsitter: Corntail
Steelflash was an adventurous little boy who kept everyone on their toes. No pup in the Nursery was more likely to wander off than Steel. His pupsitter Corntail understood the curiosity of the young pup and often took him along on walks in the woods. Steel's father Mountainheart thought that maybe his son would be a scout and seek adventure out in the wider lands. But his mother Snowmelt thought that being a hunter like his parents would be adventure enough for a lifetime. Steel didn't know what he wanted to be yet, except maybe the first to a meal. After his sister was turned out, he became friends with Cedarheart, who was a lone pup. Their parents thought that maybe they would pairbond at some point, but it was more like a sibling relationship. They did everything together, and Cedar was known to try to distract their pupsitter Corn so that Steel could get away.
At the Academy, Steel's boldness served him well in his speed and agility lessons. Never afraid to try new things, he excelled in school. But he sometimes took risks that his teachers didn't like. And the more he was told not to do something, the more he wanted to do it. His behavior threatened to derail his promising future, so dad Mountain sat him down and explained to him that being an adult pack member required responsibility and he'd have to stop this childish nonsense. Steel tried to take this wisdom to heart, but it was hard. Consistent discipline from his parents and teachers, as well as Cedar's good influence, helped him improve as he got older. But the pupsitters still decided to assign his last lesson and recommended him for a hunter role, much to his mom's delight.
During his apprenticeship, Steel went out on the trail to learn chasing work. Most of the time, he went with his dad's team, as Mountain liked to keep Steel close and keep an eye on him. But sometimes he went with mom's team, and that was a treat. Dad was more serious and demanding on Steel than mom, which surprised their friends who had expected the opposite. But the distinction ended up being positive for Steel. His dad taught him to buckle down and work hard, while his mom taught him to enjoy his work and have fun.
On his first birthday, Steel looked back on his life and realized that he was a much different wolf than he used to be. He still liked to look for little adventures here and there, and Cedar was still his best friend. But he was much more mature and responsible, only goofing off or taking risks where it was appropriate instead of being a nuisance.
Now as an adult, Steel likes to think he's everything his dad wanted him to be, but still with his mom's heart. He's still the one to wander off and get into some trouble, sometimes with Cedar in tow. But never anything that would cause issues for his packmates. His teammates say that his dedication to his work is unmatched, but he'll also have a drink after without worrying about the next morning. His laughter is often the last thing his packmates hear before they fall asleep.
