Delta took care of what emerged from it, little weak things similar to humans but smelling nothing like them. He felt obligated to warn the owners of this territory. Ghul Pack now directs hunters and scouts to pass by the Metal Thing to check for recent human activity. Howling and if needed chasing are used to scare humans away from the area. Wolves with spare time dig and carry brush, throwing dirt and debris against the side of the Metal Thing. In time it will be buried, and the curiosity of humans will threaten no longer.

Delta led by example, spending his first settled months guarding and digging. His dedication impressed the young Dune Dancer, who was destined to lead after old Snake Speaker died. After using her rank to pick him as her mate she gave him the position of Alpha instead. He loves her and his new home deeply under a quiet, gruff exterior.
