Biography
Daughter of Bard and Siv, younger litter mate of Johanna
It was a simple stroll, their first taste of the world outside their den. Orla was taking them to see a great lake, with plentiful fish and water as blue as sapphires. Sapphires were gemstones. Gemstones were precious, shiny rocks. She found a small burrow by her feet, surrounded by shining white string. Young Rán leaned closer, eager to see what hid inside.
The pups were later carried back to the safety of the village, where a hideous bite was found on Ráns cheek. The wound was stubborn and refused to heal. The pack was as young as she, with no experienced herbalists, and the infection could not be controlled. In the darkness of night, when the first snows of winter fell, the young pup took her last breath. Come the next morning, Johanna was the first to notice her sister had grown as cold as ice.
Her body was the first to be lain at the highest point of the mountain, surrounded by flowers, to be taken by the eagles. Her mother kept one of her baby teeth, a token on a leather string dangling close her bleeding heart.
