Slate

This wolf was very quiet in the pack. He was among the first wolves to join, but he didn't pride himself on that fact. He seemed depressed and uncaring, but only one of those descriptions were true. Considering how he always appeared disinterested, packmates used to discuss what happened to make him this way. Maybe his pack was tragically slaughtered and he was the sole survivor, or maybe he had a normal dispersing from his original pack and Slate is just chronically depressed.

Packmates used to gossip and discuss theories behind his back, but they never got an answer. Slate was not very talkative, but he was very good at communicating with other packmates to get work done, mainly hunting. He was also assertive, and had named himself the breeding male of the pack.

He respected his pack's King at the time, Granite... sort of. What he couldn't stand about her was her hyperactivity around everyone, 24/7. For him it would be exhausting to essentially puppy-sit an adult wolf who should have known better. But, that was why he became an Advisor.

Slate joined the pack as a Subordinate at first, but quickly gained King Granite and Advisor Veris' trust, eventually becoming an Advisor himself when he was around 5 years old, especially due to his older age and experience. Never retiring, he chose to stay an Advisor until his peaceful passing.
