Tarantula: The Rot That Follows
As the sun sets over the serene grassy meadows,
A darkness follows that claims the land as it holds its head low.
Plants wither and die at the touch of their fingers,
It leaves nothing but decay as the darkness lingers.
Animals scatter and run, when they know there's nowhere to go.
The darkness spreads- on the prowl,
The last thing one will hear is a horrifying howl.

TRIGGER WARNING: Mentions of verbal and physical abuse, manipulation
Tarantula is a medium sized canine with a slender but muscular build. They have dark, brown-ish purple fur like an evening storm. They have traces of grey, black and red dotting their fur, and they have three black eyes with no visible pupils. They even sport crimson red, spikes horns shooting straight out of their head. Aside from the not-so wolf-like appearance, Tarantula isn't very aggressive. At least not to strangers.
Tarantula is very manipulative when she isn't actively destroying the land she calls home. Any weak or injured predator she sees, she will nurse back to health. Her most common victims are coyotes and wolves, but she will also do the same to bears and birds of prey from time to time. That way, she can gain their trust and take on a "motherly" role to them. This creature is far from motherly, however. She will often convince her victims to do potentially dangerous tasks for her, rewarding them with food and territory of their own. Sometimes she will even bribe them with money.
Should anyone refuse Mother's orders, Tarantula makes sure they understand who is in control in their toxic relationship. That usually involves degrading her "children" to the point where they eventually comply. If that doesn't work, then she will resort to physical violence which often results in cuts, bruises, or even torn ligaments for her children. Occasionally, there are unfortunate souls who succumb to their injuries within a few days.
Mother is very careful to make sure no one gets word of the living conditions of her children. If any creature does, they are promptly disposed of once they fall into her trap, just like the fate of all of her children.
The moment her fingers grace another's, that is when the web is formed.
