Ptitselov was born in captivity in a zoo in Russia, as part of a breeding program. He, along with many of his siblings, were sold overseas to a zoo in the US.
His new home was overcrowded, poorly managed, and poorly funded. After months of living in squalor, all the more expensive animals were released to fend for themselves. Those who weren't shot by humans, fled from civilization and deep into the wilderness.
Ptitselov hadn't been living in the wild for more than a few months before he found Mordre, and joined her in forming the Milkvetch Pack.
He was easily convinced to join her. Not out of enthusiasm, but out of a want for the safety that she could provide him as a powerful leader. Ptitselov had no love for the terrible living conditions of his captivity, but while he relished in his freedom, he was accustomed to being fed and housed.
He had absolutely no expectations to grow fond at all of Mordre, or his new pack. And while he generally prefers isolation, he is willing to follow Mordre wherever she may go.
