When Ravenfern had just been weaned, she took off into the forest, exploring, and hoping to find some prey to impress her mother, Cloudstorm. She was missing for around 2 hours. Her mother, frantic with worry, had alerted the pack, and was leading a search with Redclaw, when they heard a whimper, under a tree with a ruined nest, coated in the scent of raven, cracked eggs, Ravenfern, and an unfamiliar smell... They rushed over, and underneath the branch holding the nest, was Ravenfern Only... she wasn't exactly Ravenfern. She was growing feathers, so fast that if you watched, you could see them growing! Redclaw picked her up immediatly, and rushed off to Icepool's den. They left her in his care, and waited anxiously outside, pacing. A few hours later, a worried Icepool emerged from between the vines covering the entrance of his den.
He dipped his purple-white head, before informing the worried parents that "Ravenfern's condition is very rare, Herbert has only seen it a few times. It is inflicted by a bird, and then that wolf will transform into that species of bird, if not for this... cure. It slows the growth, so she will still be a wolf, just feathery."
The parent's feelings of relief were tangible. Icepool allowed them inside the den to take a look at their pup. Ravenfern was sleeping, her dark feathers rising and falling with the movement. When she woke the next morning, she was not moaning, falling into depression, or anything similiar. Instead, she was trying to see if she could fly. The puppy quite liked her new look, saying that it "looks nice with my special fur". She is so far living a happy, and normal(-ish) life, and loves being a hunter.
