Biography
9/25/2020: Ymir I breaks away from her birth pack with her distant relative Brimir. The two females decided to create a new pack named after the Yggdrasil tree of life. Unlike their birth pack or every other pack out there, Ymir makes the decision to only allows females into her pack. She believes males carry a trait of savageness fueled by testosterone and are unable to understand the will of the Gods as Females do. They are bound by individualistic rewards and are never able to sate their selfish desires. For breeding purposes, Ymir has allowed one male to enter their territory. She strips away his name and gives him a new one, Jörmungandr, after the Midgardian serpent who holds the world's oceans. A vital component, but always a threat.
Ymir and Brimir claim the mountains to the east as their territory and home range. The mountains provide a great amount of security for the new pack and keep prying eyes away. The hidden lake from which the river of the valley flow is solely theirs so the Yggdrasil pack always receives the freshest water. There is just enough wood coverage for prey animals to hide away in and the enemies are less relenting, meaning a good portion of her pack should survive. The mountains were perfect as is, but what really sealed the deal for Ymir was the island in the northeast corner of her territory. Both she and Brimir felt strangely connected to it. The island was off-limits until she could further investigate.
11/20/2020: With new and stronger blood running in her pack, Ymir decided to expand her territory. She traveled to the Taiga and defeated the resident pack of wolves there before making the location her new home base for her pack.
11/22/2020: After realizing her hunters were ill-equipped to hunt in the Taiga's thick forest, with more difficult prey, and winter soon approaching, Ymir decided to expand her territory once more. She once again kills off the resident pack of wolves in the Grasslands and moves her home base. She now owns, the Mountains, the Taiga, and the Grasslands.
1/01/2021: Brimir approaches her one day right as she is just about to head out for another exploration of hers. Ymir already knows, what's on her cousin's mind and had wished to avoid it for as long as possible, but now she was caught.
"May I speak with you before you leave?" Brimir spoke evenly. She was always so polite with her despite their upbringing together from their birth pack. Ymir had always considered them equals even as she became the alpha of Yggdrasil.
"Speak freely."
"There has been some talk amongst the pack about... allowing certain sons to stay." Brimir wove her words carefully as Ymir's face twisted in irritation. "Only the sons of our most loyal and productive would remain. A limited number of course. If any more than that number want to stay, it will have to be worked out between them and the Jörmungandr."
Ymir did not like this plan one ounce, but she did not want to confront her cousin on the issue and so she would let it slide, with a few conditions. "One cave den, I want them accounted for at all times. They will need someone to sponsor them, pair bond them with blood, no changes or switcharoos allowed. They can never be more than a quarter of the pack. Hunting teams will be separate and never mix. Is this understood?" Brimir nodded sternly as relief washed over her. She clearly thought this would have taken more convincing on her part. "Then I hereby declare males are allowed within the pack, but are separate and are not of the pack."
Ymir is convinced to start allowing males to remain in her pack, but only if they are pair-bonded to another female wolf who will be their owner. Brimir tacks on several other rules, to help separate the wolves as needed.
1/04/2021: Ymir has cleared out the residing pack of the prairies and has moved in. The area isn't too difficult to survive in now that she has a much larger pack.
2/27/2021: Since the majority of her old pack are now retiring, and the younger generation of wolves are taking over, Ymir I has killed off the residing pack in the Deciduous Forest and has moved the Yggdrasil there. Her daughter, Kæmpe will soon be taking over as alpha for her and she hopes that her daughter will be able to conquer harsher territories after she finds her feet.
