Biography
The name Phema means "caretaker, housewife." That's what her mother had planned for her. To be a good mate for a wolf, to be a pupsitter. She was glad that didn't end up being the case, glad that she ended up being born a monstrosity. Her pack leader forced her mother to keep nursing her, but as soon as she was able to be weaned she was cast out of her home. Why? Because of her eyes. Three purpley-blue eyes. Touched by aliens, by outsiders, by creatures not of this world. With no home and no idea who her father may be since both of her parents had blue eyes, Phema set off to find a new place to live away from others. "Polyphema" her pack had sneered, reminding her of her extra eye that only helped her see the disdain and shame on her family's face. She carried the burden as her own personal cross; she wasn't Phema. Maybe she was meant to be, but she was too ornery to be a good little wolf. She had three eyes. She had teeth. She had an advantage no one else had. Many wolves tried to kill her out of disgust or fear but she always slayed them with ease, with no mercy. She was Polyphema and she was to be feared. The first wolf to not even so much as blink in her direction shook her. When she asked why she wasn't afraid the white wolf responded "Hmmm? We have an alliance with Legionnaire's Legacy; they have tons of Xeno wolves! The Lunar Realms are a magical place, and while it is dangerous I don't think the inhabitants of it deserve to be feared." After inquiring further Polyphema learned that there was a pack in the mountains that mainly consisted of wolves like her. When the white wolf offered to take her there she couldn't say yes fast enough! They traveled for several miles and she ended up growing quite fond of the white wolf. Daewn had her own pack called Beastenguard, but there were only two wolves in it that had eyes like hers. They were piebald freaks of nature, but they had the important job of scouting and keeping balance in the pack. Polyphema made a note to meet them someday and ask how they could avoid so much bigotry and aggression during their travels when she had constantly been a target. They finally left the coniferous Forest and made it to the mountains, and in the steep peaks was Legionnaire's Legacy! However, something didn't feel right for Polyphema. The wolves were kind, too kind. Everyone was sweet and friendly and didn't give her a second glance. After all this time her heart had hardened and she didn't know how to interact with them. Her heart sunk; even surrounded by her own people she felt like an outsider. "You know, we don't have many Xenos in our pack except when LL members come to stay, but you'd be welcome to join. I don't extend that offer to just anyone, but you're truly one of a kind Polyphema." Her heart races with joy! She was speechless so all she could do was nod. "Good; we'll stay the night here, and early morning we'll head to the taiga." Instantly her heart dropped again, the taiga? Polyphema had come from the taiga, come from the cold. Come from a pack who didn't want her anymore. What would she say if she saw them again? Daewn merely raised an eyebrow at her. "Hmm? You don't like the cold? If you're worried about that our den location is actually pretty wa-" Polyphema shook her head, tears brimming in all three of her eyes. Daewn's two yellow eyes opened wide in realization. "You came from there." Polyphema nodded, throat too coarse to speak. "Well," Daewn said with a dark laugh "if you're worried about running into enemies you don't need to. We have no problem taking out anyone who pisses us off and all the surrounding packs know it. You're safe with us. Hell, if anyone so much as looks at you funny Astra and Lisya, hell even Yin and Yang will take care of them. Besides, I'd love to have a Xeno in my pack that will actually work with me. Yin and Yang may come from the Lunar realm but they're secretive as FUCK! Having a wolf who can see what I cannot would be a massive advantage. You'd be doing me a ginormous favor." This was her chance to meet the scouts Daewn had told her so much about. "Yes," she managed to choke out, "I want to join you. I want Beastenguard to be my home." And Daewn was right; while she did see old pack members from time to time, they didn't bother her. In fact, they looked at her with more fear than they had when she was a pup. They had unclaimed her, and that meant she had no heritage. She was a new wolf with no blood to call her own. She found out through time she was the last of her family, and while she was a bit sad to hear they had died it felt like a clean start for her. Polyphema began to stand prouder, stand taller. Daewn invited her to become an official member of the royal family which thrilled her tremendously; Daewn was the mother she had always wanted, and as she grew to know Coyle she was honored to call him father. She may not have been officially adopted because she was already a young woman when she met Daewn, but she called her mother all the same. Instead of running from her lunar heritage she embraced it, embraced magic. She learned she could do all sorts of things, see all kinds of wonders no one else save for Yin and Yang could. While the two Xeno pies were completely uninterested in their homeland and more interested in exploring the corporeal world, Polyphema was absolutely smitten by the lunar realm. She enjoyed best going on hunts there as a hunter for whatever team needed her seeing eye. Polyphema finally felt at home with her heritage, with both worlds. Her personality changed from aloof to sarcastic; she finally felt comfortable enough to joke around with people without being shunned! Polyphema was the bridge between worlds, and she couldn't be more glad she was born different. She created the hunting group Mythos and became their official Finisher!
