Birch was born to two loners. She learned from the start how to track, scout, and survive alone in the woods. They day she became and adolescent her parents told her to get lost and never to come back. Shocked, she left. She survived alone until she grew into a beautiful and smart survivalist in the harsh deciduous forest. One day she stumbled upon a group of three male wolves, a hunting party. They were the Jakte party of Torden pack. Birch had heard stories of Torden pack, but thought that it was just a myth to keep pups from wondering off in the woods alone. It was supposedly a pack of wolves silent as whispers that disappeared with the mist when they wanted to go unseen. They seemed friendly especially one named Thrush who insisted that they take her back to their leader after he discovered Birch was a loner. The two others agreed and they took her to their Queen. Her name was Kyra. She was like no wolf Birch had ever seen. Kyra suggested that Birch stayed with them until she could decide what to do with her. They quickly decided to except her into their pack. Birch spent her days as a scout, exploring new territories alone, though she enjoyed the company of her pack when she was with them. One very gentle, handsome, but shy wolf named Plikt would always try to speak to her if they came a crossed each other. He was a blue grey with charcoal speckles all over his fur and he had bright blue eyes. Birch judged him at first glance and decided that he was strange and awkward and she never really made an effort to get to know him. After a while Birch developed feeling for Thrush, the wolf that first found her out in the woods. The two dated for many moons, but it ended in a mutual break-up. She never realy fell in love after that for a long time. Not because it was traumatizing, she simply just had no other feelings for any of the other males. In her senior years, she retired from scouting and bacame an elder. The only other elder was Plikt, so she figured that she had better get to know him now. The two became best friends, often playing and telling stories to little pups and helping them pull harmless pranks on the adolescents. One day, Plikt admitted to Birch that he had feelings for her when he was a young wolf. Birch was a little awkward at first, and let it slip out that she had never thought of him as anything more than a pack-mate, and a strange one at that, but she was quick to say that he was a good friend now. Plikt a little bit hurt, but he hid it very well and was completely willing to just laugh the whole thing off with her. They talked a chuckled together for every minute of every day. One day Birch realized that she regretted not getting to know Plikt in their younger years when he was in love with her, because now, she knew that she would've been overjoyed and love struck with a kind, gentle, but strong wolf like Plikt, and probably would've become his mate if he was willing. She shed a tear over all those years she had searched for love just to find her perfect match was under her nose for years, in love with her and waiting for her to notice him, but now it was too late. Birch privately grieved over this often, she could hardly escape the guilt. After two moons of this she couldn't take it any more, while she was having a her usual day with Plikt she just snapped and began spilling out all the things she had felt over the last couple of moons. About how she had let him slip away when he loved her, how she never found love her whole life because she was blind to him, at last she begged him to forgive her for overlooking him and letting the beautiful life they could've had together go. After she finished she just laid down and began to cry. Plikt laid beside her a comforted her with soothing words and affectionate nuzzles. He said that he forgave her and that it wasn't completely her fault. He admitted that he didn't try to win her heart as hard as he could have because of a she-wolf that had broken his heart in another pack. Plikt said the blame was his as much as hers even though Birch knew that she was mostly at fault, but she just nuzzled her muzzle into his grey, silver tinted fur. Plikt that his feeling for her never left, but were just hidden away until they got to know each other. The two decided that they weren't going to just sit around a grieve for the life that they could've, but they were going to become mates a live lives that they were meant too live. They decided to become mates and live out their days with each other. The two decided to have puppies, unfortunately, Plikt died one moon before his puppies were born. Birch was devastated. Her puppies were born and Birch was instantly very protective. The winter that the puppies were born into was a harsh one. The puppies all died one by one. Convinced that the pupsitters couldn't do their job, Birch protected her last puppy on her own. She hardly slept, ate, or moved without her puppy with her. On a cold night when the winds whipped and howled, the puppy almost died. Birch tried to warm her up, she thought the poor thing was just to small to survive such a terrible winter, but Birch refused to let her last memory of Plikt go and went to extensive lengths to keep the small puppy alive. when spring came the puppy was walking and talking. Birch had named her Alazne meaning miracle. The young wolves of the pack, Sylvaine, Jay, Verani, and Tempest, along with all the puppies and adolescents, made it there mission to help Birch raise Alazne. They always were with the elder and her puppy, whether on a walk or just hanging out, they all grew very fond of Alazne and Birch and her of them. Birch especially liked the young she-wolf Sylvaine. Sylvaine reminded Birch of herself at that age, a spit-fire who could easily handle herself with a compassionate side. The young she-wolf was who took over Birch's scouting position after Sylvaine expressed her love of exploring and going on new adventures every day. Birch happily gave her scouting position to Sylvaine. After that Birch happily lived out the rest of her days as an elder who was beloved by all of the young wolves of the pack, her only regrets were takeing so long to noticing Plikt, the wolf of her dreams, and dying before her and his puppy reached adulthood.
