Sun☀️Eyes

Sun Eyes was not a wolf born with great aspirations. While he was blessed aesthetically and adept in survival skills, his only goal in his puphood was to exasperate his family. His sisters didn't enjoy his company for long periods and even his parents tired of his wit quickly. 

However, as he grew into adolescence, his tune began to change. His tongue was still sharp but he started to want and understand the closeness of a mate. And while he loved his kin, he wanted to explore outside of his pack's territory. Sun Eyes held back as long as he could, but when he reached the age of a year, he could no longer wait. He said goodbye to his family and set out.

He wandered for many days before a pair of wolves calmly approached him. These two turned out to be Mountain Gust and Night Snow.

Night Snow was the first female to ever show interest in Sun Eyes, and he fell for her hard. The trio decided to call themselves the Sky Wheel pack, and Night Snow's first litter christened their new bond.

Unfortunately, their intimacy fell to the wayside as their focus shifted to growing their pack and sharpening their skills. There were no hard feelings though, the pair remaining close friends.

Another wolf struck Sun Eyes in time, the beautiful hunter, Delta Runner. Even though he was the leader of his pack, she was a few years his senior, and, though he'd never admit it, that made him somewhat intimidated. He was practically acting like a nervous pup when finally, Gust and Snow tricked the two together and told the femme of his feelings for her.

Delta Runner wasn't quite surprised, but she was flattered and admitted feelings for him as well. From then on, she has been his trusted deputy, confidante, and love.

For years, which felt endless, the monochrome pair lead the Sky Wheel pack with fairness and democracy. Many new wolves were welcomed during this time of prosperity, both born to their members and brought to their land by fate. 

Sun Eyes was only four when his beloved mate, Delta, passed. Waking to find her elder body motionless and cold beside him, he felt a cold strike of lightning run through him. His body felt almost as stiff as the late beta's. A howl of anguish finally fought it's way from his maw and his packmates gathered quickly. With a frog in his throat, he simply said, "Delta is dead."

The voices of all the wolves, including the rasping elders and the squeaking pups, were raised in a final farewell to their beloved mother, mate, beta, and friend. As for any passing wolf, they hoped their rising calls would guide her spirit to the sacred  hunting grounds.

Sun never took another mate. He found companionship with his oldest friends, but no she-wolf caught his eye as Delta had.

He spent more of his time with the youngsters, his mind wandering to who would take his place once he, too, passed. Of course he still had plenty of time, but he had much wisdom and morality to impart before then.
