29-aug-21: Used Sex Changer. Your chosen wolf sips the colourful ichor and lies down, suddenly exhausted. Their nap is long, and the dream they had was life-changing, to say the least.
"Adiris is well-fitted for her role and worked hard for it," Pheonix replies sharply, "Stop moaning with that tone, Lucan. It's annoying."
"Oh, so you don't want me either, huh?"
"Don't be ridiculous, of course I want you. This pack works hard to support you, y'know, the least you could do is show a little gratitude instead of trying to one-up everyone." It feels good to finally get this off her chest; she's been privy to Lucan's attitude as of late, both personally and through stories fed to her by others. It's embarrassing, really, to know one of her own is going around acting like that. Favir and Adiris have turned out so well... Where has she gone wrong with Lucan?
"I want them to see my full potential!" growls Lucan, flopping down in the grass. "All I hear is Adiris this, Favir that... Favir and Jahzie are not that special, anyone can have pups for the first time."
Pheonix nearly chokes. "Don't say it like that! Having a family isn't a competition, it's a privilege!" She shakes out her fur and sprawls out on the grass, showing her belly to the sun. "Have you ever thought that perhaps capability doesn't necessarily make you desirable, my boy? From what I've heard, you're really getting on everyone's nerves. Don't go and pick on Jahzie and then come crying to me because Adiris smacked you for it."
"I just want to branch out... Explore, get some adrenaline in my veins. I want to help the sanctum."
Pheonix side-eyes him as close as she can from the angle she's laying at. "Nothing's stopping you now that you've come of age. Go running into the forest for all I care, just make sure you come back before the sun sets," Then, she perks up a little. "Even better -- set your sights on making some friends or finding a mate! Maybe then you'll learn how to respect others."
"I don't have time for mates when I'm trying to get assigned, Mother," Lucan rolls his eyes, but Pheonix doesn't miss the way his eyes stray across the camp to land on Yuri. She smiles privately to herself.
"Take my advice anyway, you little brat, I'm doing you a favour," she prods, kicking grass up at him. "Now go away and sulk elsewhere. I'm enjoying the sun -- far too old to deal with your shenanigans."
Lucan nudges her shoulder -- the only kind of affection he dares give lest his tough, best-of-the-best persona falls to shambles -- and then heads off in some direction or another (Pheonix isn't overly paying attention anymore, she's just really enjoying the midday sun. Maybe Canghenau will be back soon and she can convince Adiris to give her the first few bites of whatever fresh and juicy meal they've brought back this time).
