Biography
Chara was the only daughter born to her father, the late Alpha Ruderalis and his mate Pilar, in Spring at the Taiga. She never expected to become a leader, and it was believed that her parents would have a son to take over after them.
However, this never came to pass as Ruderalis poured all his care and attention into the pack. Thanks to months of prosperity, they were experiencing a population boom that was becoming difficult to manage as food and supplies were stretched. Throughout much of her youth Chara remembered there being worries over resources. Still she became a dedicated member of the pack and did her part as a hunter (fact check?) to ensure they were well taken care of. She had a small fling with the pack flirt and bore a daughter before her third birthday, Lozanella.
When the time finally came for Ruderalis to pass on his title, Chara wasn't sure if she was ready. There were many older members of the pack and few younger ones, and many of them had only known and worked with her father. Still he assured her that he had similar reservations and her leadership would soon blossom into its own legend with time. Taking this to heart, Chara did what she could.
Although it was somewhat controversial, Chara implemented a breeding rule where couples could only have one litter. She also encouraged more mingling among the wolves outside of their respective hunting cliques. She also looked to move their pack to a land with more open space to accommodate their still large numbers. During her scouting she met a wolf named Brun and grew close with him very quickly. They soon became mates, and together had their first son Ridl. There was a small scandal around this, as it was her second litter, however Chara did this only because she knew her daughter had no interest in taking over after her. Bandit, her cousin and close friend, helped smooth things over and became her second in command after doing so.
When Ridl and the pups born around that time were older, Chara and the pack moved to the vast Tundra. Scouts scoured the territory and Chara herself rid it of all possible contenders, ensuring their move was smooth and easy. The pack loved their new land! Chara also found new methods of gaining resources, and the pack began using all of their kills, not just the meat. With more resources, wider space, and a shrinking population, they no longer feared for resources and everyone was in high spirits. There was even a puppy boom that saw many of the retired wolves coming back into action as pupsitters to help Fife, the Den Mother at the time. More hunting groups came to be, and no longer was it simply the Brigadiers and Harbingers who held the spotlight, but the Threshers, Away Team, Rooters and Reapers. An Ensin team was also formed to train newer wolves. Chara came into her own, just as her father predicted.
Very sadly, in the hot months of summer, Chara's beloved mate Brun passed away. In her grief and not wanting to rule alone she employed her cousin Bandit as the beta. However he, being older, also passed in the following season. Chara, in a moment of weakness, let herself be taken by Boneslav and he bore another litter. None of the pack questioned her, knowing how miserable the loss of her mate and cousin had made her. Sarabi came to comfort her in the aftermath and helped raise her pups and soon became the Beta as well.
Together the two ladies continued to lead the pack and see that their prosperity continued. They grew old, and Sarabi also passed. At this point Chara's son Ridl was now old enough to take a more active role in the pack and he was appointed to Beta with the goal of one day becoming a leader himself.
