Baelris feels responsible for everyone because when she arrived she was the only skilled hunter, and her dedication to her job caused her to lose several pups in the early days of Fellworm.
Baelris holds no ill will towards Bakirah for the loss of Bayyet, as she is painfully familiar with the danger that winter poses towards the young. Ultimately in her past she felt obligated to sacrifice the safety of her young for the sake of keeping the pack alive, and was too proud/untrusting to ask for help. She carries a heavy weight of guilt over this, and doesn't want Bakirah to feel the same.
