During the lesson: Columba tried her new skills on real prey today. It worked with other pups earlier, but it won't always be so easy.
Bird Watching:
During the lesson: Columba yawned, waiting for any bird at all to come. She didn't know if the nesting material was wrong or if it was something else, but figuring it out makes for a valuable lesson.
Hiding:
During the lesson: To Columba's surprise, Ursa found her quite quickly today. Columba was reminded to mind her tail while hiding, because energetic wagging can be easily heard and seen.
Stalking:
During the lesson: Columba learned how to use the environment to her advantage, to successfully muffle all the sounds she made. Columba and her littermates were stalking each other, changing their roles from time to time.
Beginner's Foraging:
During the lesson: Columba tried using her tongue to recognize the herb by taste, but Orion rushed to lecture the class about toxic plants. Better safe than sorry!
Hunting Basics:
During the lesson: Columba caught sight of a bushy gray tail darting under a bush and acted quickly under Philly's watchful gaze. She only managed to catch a clump of gray fur from the squirrel, but her speed was improving!
Killing Effectively:
During the lesson: Taurus dissected the prey gently in front of the class to show where the veins and spine are. Anatomy lessons can pay off when trying to deal fatal blows, and Columba listened eagerly.
