Named after the: Goddess of Harvest and Agriculture. Angered by Hades' abduction and subsequent marriage of her daughter, Persephone, Demeter is the cause of the changing seasons, as she refuses to attend to her duties during the time that Persephone is obligated to be within the Underworld.
