In the wolf's womb the fire's sorrow swirled and drew in upon itself, gradually growing then solidifying into a bud. It stirred awake thanks to the beating of the other heart here in the womb; hot, pulsing life pumped into it. There was more life here than could be contained in one vessel, it overflowed into him. The first beat...that electric shock was the first conscious moment the fire had had in what felt like an eternity. Its sorrow came to a head and its new heart, so kindly given to it by the beautiful forest it destroyed, broke again...but...the feeling of a comfortable embrace overtook it, the forest's spirit knew how its heart hurt and took the pain away. The flame besets the forest and with that destruction new life grows, it returns, or it moves on. Fire renews and refreshes the landscape, a fire is life itself.
