First half of history found here; The Start

GROWTH

As the years passed, Khanakari flourished and strengthened. The pack slowly moving its territory further and further up into the sparse lands of the glacier. Salura having brought their pack their under the orders of Akalei, who believed they needed to establish lands their in order to prevent a more ruthless wolf from establishing a pack there who'd excuse their cruelty by blaming it on harsh conditions.

As they grew older, Akalei and Salura decided to pick the next generation of leaders to raise into their positions. The two being Deirlock, the son of one of the scouts Eutani. And the other being Winona, the daughter of Salura. And for the next two years Akalei and Salura thought this was what was best, however, as the end creeped closer and closer, Akalei fell back on this decision. Worried for the future bloodlines of the pack, he brought his fears to Salura, and together they decided to sit and have a talk with the two about their positions. Deirlock and Winona, although surprised by this decision, understood its importance, as the health of the future pups was more important than their potential roles. 

THE END

In his final years, Akalei and Salura handpicked the next leader, Houndérat. This being a shock to everyone, the wolf hadn't been trained for this important position, all his life having only been a runner for hunts. However, Akalei and Salura recognized his resolve for the pack, and his companion was soon to come.

Salura and Akalei, producing the unknowing companion of Houndérat together. Salura having her last litter with her dear friend, and producing Soanai. Soanai being a middle ground between her parents, kind yet stern, intelligent yet empathetic. The two taking it as a sign that she was the one who would take over Salura's position after the her mother would pass. 

In the last year of his life, Akalei found his pack, strong, united, and passionate. Not long after Soanai's first year, the retired Salura became ill. Akalei spending every day with his sick friend until one day she breathed her last breath. Despite his mournfulness about his best friend, Akalei had to push onward, instating Houndérat as his second in command. 

The months slipped away after that, Akalei doing less and less as he released the reigns onto his successor. Houndérat hanging on to the last of the leader's stories and lessons. Akalei could feel his final days encroaching, parting with his pack at his final meeting where he fully relinquished his role as leader. Disappearing into his den, to fall asleep. In his last dream he was met by the ghosts of Jojn, Salura, the two helping him cross into the afterlife. Joining his deceased companions and entering into Estron's eternal pack.
