Biography
Polaris: | Playful | Energetic | Generous | Adventurous | Outspoken | Soft | Mischievous | Overthinking | Moody |
The ice-eyed dame woke with a yelp of terror. Her pelt was damp with sweat and her eyes darted back and forth rapidly. Though her vision was blurry, she noticed figures appearing in what appeared to be the mouth of whatever cave or den she was in. A meek whine slipped from he muzzle. She was in no shape to hold her own. All she could hope for would be a merciless death. Her ears folded back and she lowered her head.
After blinking a few times, her vision cleared and she saw that only one wolf was standing at the mouth of the cave. He was tall and rather handsome. His brown and liver pelt was appealing. The stranger's face showed worry and concern. For a moment, her heart lifted ever so slightly. Perhaps she wasn't going to be hurt. Some shuffling just to the side of her resting place caused her to lift her head. As she tried to lift her body, all of her muscles screamed in protest. She winced and let a out a soft, huffing whine of pain.
Peering over her shoulder, she saw a gangly, ruddy female with bat-like ears and dark markings. The smell of herbs was thick in the air. When the strange female turned, her eyes widened. "Ah! You've come to! Please, lay back down. You need to rest." The strange female hustled over to Polaris.
Polaris could feel her head aching, her stomach churning, and a wave of confusion and discomfort washing over her. "Where- wha- where am I?" she inquired. Her attention shifted from the female to the male and then back again. The lanky dame settled beside her and offered a small chunk of meat with a poultice of herbs slathered on top.
"You are in The Banished Lands... We, well, Kvasir found you laying unconscious... You were bloodied and hurt," the female explained. Pushing the meat towards her a bit more she instructed, "Eat, you'll feel better, but the taste will be bitter."
The greyscale dame frowned but complied. "I... how did I get here? Who are you?"
The herbalist was clearly worried. "Some of our males carried you here a few weeks ago... You've been in and out since. My name is Sinopa. I wasn't sure you would wake."
Polaris, with a grimace, allowed her head to rest on he moss and feather bed she was on. "Can I sleep? Can I, can I stay?" Her voice was cracked and laced with sorrow. She felt Sinopa press a kind paw against her shoulder - some effort at physical comfort towards a wolf she didn't know.
"Yes... Our King has made room in our pack for you... You will be staying with us."
Polaris' history is a mystery. She was found, by Kvasir, laying on the ground at the base of one of the mountains. She was bloody, scuffed, and unconscious. Her breathing was shallow and she was on the brink of fading away. Kvasir raced quickly to The Banished Lands' herbologist, Sinopa. The two quickly returned to the abandoned canine. Polaris was treated by Sinopa while Kvasir raced to get more help. With the assistance of Voyager and Asroth, they managed to get her to their denning site.
Over the next few days, she was in and out of consciousness. Slurred words and panicked yelps and cries would echo out every so often. Sinopa was constantly with her. After nearly two weeks, she came-to fully. It took her a long time to be comfortable around the other wolves. She was flinchy and confused. Eventually, with the help of some of her empathetic packmates, she began to return to herself.
Nowadays, she has almost fully recovered. She smiles more. She's talkative and pleasant. However, she has the occasional mood swing. She has episodes of confusion and panic. Despite her childlike, free nature, she suffers from chronic headaches and night-terrors.
Polaris is probably one of the biggest wolves that shows her youth through her personality. She is essentially a giant grey and white pup with glistening ice eyes. It isn't uncommon to find her pestering anyone and everyone around her. Cheerful, energetic, and outspoken, she is always ready to chat and always ready for an adventure. Polaris is incredibly energetic. Often times, she is energetic to the point of being annoying to many of her packmates.
However, during times of distress within the pack, Polaris acts as a wonderful mediator. She can be soft and physical with those who need it. However, she is an outspoken wolf as well. Polaris isn't afraid to call out injustices that she sees. She can often cause trouble when she is bored. Moodiness plagues her due to her manic highs and deep lows.
Polaris is quite strong for a female. She is large, muscled, and very fond of wrestling. It isn't uncommon to see her bragging about being one of the strongest wolves in the pack. She prides herself in being a finishing huntress.
