Meïra's Past
the Giant Slayers Pack
Meïra was born into a powerful pack of Mountain Wolves - larger than average - renowned for their great strength and ferocity in battle.
The Giant Slayers Pack has many skilled warriors and hunters in its ranks.
Meïra, her sister Baïla and her brother Sukern were the youngest, born from the single litter of the dominant couple. All three as tall as the rest of pack, each one was training for his/her future role.
Baïla was the first-born and would lead the pack at the death of their father Baldnor.
Sukern promised to become a particularity tall male and would become her lieutenant in leading the warriors of the pack.
As for Meïra, she would also have to support her sister as First Huntress.
The rest of the pack consisted mainly of Baldnor's siblings and their children. And a few other wolves were not born there and could be recognized by their smaller size.
Sadly, the pack shattered on the day Baldnor and his partner Emrah were savagely killed during a patrol by their own warriors, driven to treachery by Akerval, Baldnor's younger brother and lieutenant of him.
The pack split into two camps, one supporting the Traitor Akerval, the other Baldnor's legitimate heirs: Baïla, Sukern and Meïra. But Akerval had behind him all warriors of the pack, the most
powerful fighters of this mountain. The resistance to his coup did
not last, his oppenents had no choice but to submit.
Only the First Hunter fled with Baldnor's three children to protect
them.
the Pack of the White River
The old Tivor managed to leave the territory with his proteges and during two months, they survived as best they could by crossing many regions controlled by packs fighting a bitter war. The ex-First Hunter died of an illness shortly after their group arrived on the lands of a small pack. The Pack of the White River.
Baïla, Meïra and Sukern joined this pack where they integrated easily. Their talents as hunters and fighters were welcomed with open arms. Some time later, Sukern died. Shot dead by humans. In the same year, like a curse, four other members of the small pack also died.
While patrolling on a winter evening, Meïra discovers the olfactory trace of an unknown animal. Her prints suggest a very big wolf, at least the size of a bear. Its smell is a blend of death, putrefaction and blood. Scared by this threat, whose source she has not found but whose target is clearly the pack, Meïra pushes her sister to flee with her before this monster slaughters them all. The following night, the warning howls of the pack resound throughout the valley. The monster has gone on the attack.
While they thought they were safe, the monster having decimated their previous pack caught up with them and massacred Baïla before the eyes of a helpless and terrorized Meïra. The desperate and imploring gaze of her sister engraved forever in her memory, the great grey she-wolf fled once again.
the Lone Wolves of the Cursed Lands
Alone, Meïra wandered for a moment before entering a land where no pack reigned. Former territory of a powerful pack that has now disappeared, it was a prosperous nature shared by several lone wolves, each living on their own but helping each other when needed.
Meïra got to know them little by little, learning to distrust some of them and enjoy the company of a few others. In their presence, Meïra slowly mourned.
The dark and aggressive Bloody...
The sweet Breyla...
The lunatic Edrickko...
The strange Galactic...
The clumsy Locked...
The mistrustful Saphir...
The young Swiftness...
The wise and old Zanto...
It was at the side of the eight wolves that Meïra stood up to the monster. After a fierce fight that cost them many serious injuries, the nine lone wolves finally defeated him. With the monster dead, the tranquility of these lands returned.
And it's pushed by Breyla and Locked that Meïra finally considered founding her own pack, somewhere in the north of the lands. This is how the Shadow Slayers Pack was born...
