Flame

  As a pup, Flame was always one to wander about by himself. Being born to a larger than usual pack, he knew the best rank he would ever be to obtain would be Beta if he was lucky. An to put it politely, he just didn't have the huge size for the day-to-day, near non-stop fighting of the Betas. He had the strength to fight, even the will. However, Flame is an extreme believer in fighting smarter not harder, and Flame has more than smarts - he has common sense.

  When he was of age, Flame became the lone wolf and started out to look for a territory of his own. Wandering about for longer than he cared to, he finally found an area unclaimed. After settling into the territory he spied the most beautiful golden female he had seen in his short life. That she too was a lone wolf surprised him. That she consented to become his mate did more than surprise him, it humbled him.

  His golden mate, his sunshine - so Sunshine he named her, as she came from a pack that did not name their pups until they were of age and proven hunters. Mixing their former packs' beliefs they name only the pups that they believe will stay within the Pack.

  That other wolves were willing to join them and accept their rule, their odd sense of Pack without firm bloodlines, surprised Flame at first. Now he just accepts that Pack means family, and family is who you take into your affections, even if they are sometimes hard to deal with.

With the unexpected death of Sunshine, who passed peacefully in her sleep curled with her mate, Flame has become his stoic self once more. Only little Sun Burn and his larger, more reliable sister,  SunFlame can bring a quick, sad smile to the aging Leader's face.
