Zephyr was one of the earliest members to join the pack and one of its first scouts, along with Belarus. He and his fellow scout were polar opposites, and didn't always see eye to eye, but the two respected each other and bonded over their shared work. Zephyr could be impulsive and stubborn, often refusing to admit that he was wrong and bragging conceitedly when he was right. He could be hotheaded and emotional, prone to respond angrily when things didn't go his way. He was normally cheerful, but when upset, he got extremely upset and sometimes out of control. He could get on Belarus' nerves, but the two had a mutual respect for each other and admiration for the other's skills, and Belarus was always quick to forgive Zephyr for his outbursts, although he sometimes had to really coerce Zephyr into apologizing. Zephyr was crushed after the death of his mentor, Belarus, but found a renewed purpose in training his replacement, Taima Jr. The two didn't always get along, as Taima Jr. could also be very stubborn and hotheaded, but they made quick friends and got along well by venting their shared frustrations to each other. Zephyr caused tensions and disapproval from his peaceful and friendly packmates with his bad behavior, but they recognized that he was a dedicated and hardworking member of the pack, and that he was a caring and good wolf deep down, even if he didn't always act like it. He didn't share much about his past before he joined the pack, but it's likely he suffered some kind of trauma to make him so angry and emotional.
Zephyr was heterosexual and put a lot of value in romantic relationships. He might have seemed self-obsessed or narcissistic at times, but it was mostly to cover up his true feelings of doubt and self-loathing. Before he bonded with his partner, he often felt lonely and longed for someone to share his days with. Kalika was his calm and rational other half, the only wolf who was able to soothe his anger and keep him under control. Belarus noticed that Zephyr seemed way more calm and less prone to angry outbursts since they bonded, and (whether jokingly or seriously, she couldn't quite tell) thanked her for it. They didn't always get along; in fact, the two hated each other when Zephyr first joined the pack, and he was only allowed to stay because of Dimitrius' kindness. Zephyr was usually away for long periods of time on scouting missions, while Kalika was off on hunts, so it took a long time for them to get to know each other. But as the two were forced to work together and get along with each other, they began to realize that the other wasn't so bad, and eventually came to resolve their differences and become good friends, which quickly turned into romantic affection. They cherished each other deeply and enjoyed the little time they have together, both being busy supporting the pack. Zephyr regretted that he didn't have more time to spend with Kalika, but was glad that he didn't feel so lonely on long scouting trips anymore, with the knowledge that he would get to see his love again when he got home.
Zephyr was extremely heartbroken over the death of his mate to old age, including not speaking to anyone or eating for several days. The first person he did speak to was Dimitrius, and after a long talk with him, Zephyr seemed back to his usual self, though still sad at times when he missed his lover. Dimitrius and Zephyr never really tended to get along too well, but after Kalika's death, they became very close, leaning on each other when they needed comfort in their shared grief. Zephyr died 1.5 months later, and rejoined his mate for a peaceful eternity.
