Leaffall was the daughter of Moonpool and the Alpha, Alderflame. She had a rough time growing up, her littermate died and her mother spiraled into depression. She managed to survive to adulthood and fell in love with a wolf named Latte and had many pups together.
As her father reached the end of his life, he declared Leaffall would be the next alpha. Everyone was happy except one, Alderflame's new mate Skyfur. As the alpha's mate, she believed she had a right to the title. She tried to make her mate see reason, but Alderflame remained firm.
And so, when Leaffall was out hunting, Skyfur killed her. She rolled boulders onto the body to make it seem a rockslide had done it. The pack spent days looking for her to no avail, until a haunting howl from a heartbroken Latte echoed through the mountains.
Alderflame was devastated by the loss of his eldest daughter. He knew he didn't have much time left before the sun set on his reign. He needed to decide the new heir. He thought about how insistent Skyfur was at the position and it sent a shiver down his old spine. No, Skyfur couldn't have it. There was something malicious in the blue wolf's eyes. If only he had spotted it sooner. He saw potential in his youngest, Lotuspetal, but the pup is nowhere near ready to take over. He would have to hope that whoever takes over, will rule wisely and fairly.
