Monterey is one of the founding members of the pack. The late hunter Pomona was her mate, and Monterey adored her deeply. After her passing, Monterey became quieter and more subdued. It took time for her to cope and process the death of her mate, but when she did, she quietly blossomed once more.
Monterey rejected the role of being in one of the proficient hunting parties to work with the younger wolves and their hunting parties, and help shape their abilities. She is a mother like figure to all, patient and adoring.
