Humble by nature and quiet by experience, Shaba is the founder of the Ethereal, a rag-tag group of wolves that stalk the mountainside. Shaba left her former pack after a vision of her packs former matriarch, Ayda, appeared to her in a vision. Ayda foretold that a great flood would devastate the packs ancestral homeland. Shaba tried to convince her pack to leave, to flee the incoming flood, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. After facing scorn and ridicule, Shaba left her pack, left the only home she had ever known. Along her journey, she met Mars, and the two journeyed to the mountains to start a new pack and make a new home.
Shaba sleeps alone, in a cave separated from the rest of the pack. At night, Mar's stands guard over her, despite being the hunt leader during the daylight hours. Shaba is plagued with nightmares and visions, and fears waking the rest of the pack with her restlessness.
While there have been cocky men and determined woman who have tried to win her over, she has sworn off a mate, and very rarely invites anyone into her den.
