Holiday

The young female sits proudly near the center of the glen, beaming at each of her pack members. As she wanders through the group of dozing wolves towards the spring, she briefly nuzzles and licks her new found sisters. As she gently laps up the water, her mind wanders back to a time when she wasn't so sure of herself. The voices of her father, brothers, and uncles used to fill her head with doubt and despair. They would tell her she would never make anything of herself, that she wasn't capable of taking care of herself; let alone a pack. But she had shown them. The deep distrust of males, however, had never quite dissipated.
