Biography
Dew is the first leader of the Elkwalkers pack, named after their belief that once they died they would be reborn as elk
Dew’s fur was singed, her paw pads scraped and raw, but worse of all her heart felt shattered. Most of her pack had escaped the fire that ravaged their home and into a temporary home, but she couldn’t help but be haunted by who she had lost. One of her first and closest friends, Kermode had suffocated herbs before she could get out with her apprentice and newly made herbalist Limestone. Two pups had died in the fire, including one of her own newborns and a pup adopted by the pack. The pup’s mother couldn’t bear to stay and had left, which felt almost like another wolf had died.
Dew knew she was getting much too old to lead. Her bones creaked and she could hardly keep up with her packmates. Her mate and the wolf who had helped her start her pack, Hare, had died recently, survived by their daughter Cub. She smiled, knowing she would at least be able to see her and Hare's grandchildren before passing on. She sighed and gazed at the nearby spike elk, "Oh Hare, if only you could see our pack now. You would be so proud." She decided to lay back down on the sun-kissed stone, dreaming of being with her mate Hare forever.
Deep hook marks in rubber lips
I see your eyes in the flowers
I'll pick a bunch for your room
Green and blue to match your pictures
I hope you're well
And you look so good with him
And I'm proud of you still
