Biography
The carrier of extra lore.
Ghostbur, wanderer of packs and territories, always under the darkness of the night. Never seen in the day, never seen in the rain. Rarely seen by bodies of water, or in packs situated by large lakes or rivers. A ghost, a wolf, a spirit, a god? An apparition, a trick of the mind? Of the moonlight? All questions asked, none answered. Especially not from Ghostbur themself.
If you do see them, do not fear. Ghostbur should immediately be seen as a good sign, as they are harmless and quite pleasant to have a conversation with under the moonlight. Their cheery personality, which never fails to see the good in others, is always nice to be around, and their high spirits are told to raise yours.
When asked of what they are, Ghostbur will typically respond with "I'm not too sure, all I know is that I'm here to make people happy and to be happy." If you ask Ghostbur of their past, they will respond with a simple "I don't really know where I came from." and, as the topic usually brings his spirits down, he will change the subject. This isn't because they are hiding something, nor because they are rude. It is as they say it is, they do not know. Most of their past is hidden away from them, and they cannot access it in their mind. All they remember is the good in others, the bad memories getting locked from everybody, especially themself.
If you do happen to see Ghostbur, they will typically initiate a conversation. Stay calm, as Ghostbur does not wish harm. If you chose to continue the exchange, they will lead you to the nearest clearing that shows the moon, and will continue on the discussion until the morning rises. They will then duck into the closest cave, disappearing from sight until the sun sets once more. Ghostbur's conversations have been told to be either deep, thoughtful, and full of advice, or light-hearted, comforting, and full of random nonsense that comes to mind. Both of which have been known to give the wolf that had been part of the conversation a healing effect on the heart and mind, and leave them feeling whole and complete.
It's been told that Ghostbur's favorite topics to talk about are flowers, bees, sheep, their stories, and an old friend called just that, Friend. Ghostbur's personality has been described as wholesome, comforting, and innocent. They have traveled very far, met many wolves, and have had many conversations. If they appear in your camp, and you offer them some food, they'd be more than willing to tell you some tales, whether made-up or ones they themselves had experienced.
If you demand something from Ghostbur with malintent, they will sense it quickly and become extremely saddened and put off. They will fade into the night with a feeling of betrayal. They put their trust in you to listen to their stories, and have the utmost respect for you. Doing this action will result in them never coming to see you again, and they will avoid whichever territory you reside in for multiple years.
Ghostbur has been through a lot in his mysterious life, and if you ever see them, it would be appreciated if you spent the night with them, losing yourself in a conversation, as it has benefits for both parties. Ghostbur becomes less alone, and has one more story to tell others if they wish to listen. You, either get the advice you need, or an old friend to have a joyous discussion with for one night.
Remember, if you ever need a friend, Ghostbur will always be there.
Zinnia 💕🌸
Stumbling out from the shrubbery, the unusual colored wolf collapsed. Their breath coming out in large pants, they stumbled to the water's edge. Moonlight shown from the large rock, sitting suspended in the dark sky. Crickets and frogs were heard all around them, chirping and croaking around the water's edge. It was peaceful as a warm breeze blew through the clearing, the summer night creating a comforting atmosphere.
Memories of the wolf's life came in flashes, wolves that had been important to them. Their mother and father, brother and sister. Their friends, and the few fond memories of their leader. They remembered their proud faces when they had stood up for younger wolves, and the fondness in their mother's voice as they had shown an interest in herbalism.
But that was all behind them now, because they had run. Runaway from all they had known. From their pack. From the beautiful territory they had resided in. They couldn't stay, not while they were what they were. As a young wolf discovering themself, it had been hard to accept what they were. But they had. And when they announced it to all, they had given them a bad reaction. Or so they thought. The silence in the clearing was beginning to be too much to handle, bad memories from that morning filtering through their mind. The young wolf stood with force. Just as they were about to leave, a voice stopped them dead in their tracks.
"Are...are you okay?"
The voice held a meek tone, and it echoed around the unlit forest. The wolf whipped around, a snarl adorning its youthful features.
"Who are you, did Atlantis send you? I'm not going back there, I'll fight you if I have to!"
The...wolf...? sat down, its head tilted slightly. It seemed puzzled, as if it didn't know what the peach-colored wolf was talking about.
"I'm Ghostbur. If you don't mind me asking, who is Atlantis? And...what did they do to you..?"
Ghostbur, a name the wolf hadn't heard of. He was unsure of what Ghostbur had in mind, nor what his intentions were, but he seemed as if he could be trusted. At least for now.
"Atlantis was my old leader...They...they were a good leader, a good pack, it's just...I'm not sure if they..accepted me." They trailed off at the end, ice blue eyes trailing to their paws.
Ghostbur sat in silence, seemingly not knowing how to react to something like this.
"Do you..need help?"
"Depends."
"I know a wolf pack nearby here, I've met their leader and members numerous times. They are good wolves, I assure you that. If you want, I could show you where they're situated?" Ghostbur offered, a soft smile spreading across their features. The wolf hesitated for a second, before weighing the options and seeing that he had not much of a choice.
"Okay."
The two slid into a comfortable conversation, getting to know each other bit by bit.
"So, what's your name?" Ghostbur asked as they began trotting through the green, pined forest.
"I never really had one. My mother used to call me 'Darling' a lot though."
"Hmm. Do you have any in mind?" He asked.
"No, not exactly. I never really thought about it."
"How about you name yourself after a flower! Flowers are always good inspiration for anything!" Ghostbur proposed, a small jump now entering his steps.
"Okay, what do you have in mind?"
"How about..." Ghostbur took a fine glance at the wolf's coat, "Astilbe?"
"Mmm.."
"Your right, not very you is it? What about... Rose?"
"Eh..."
"Too varied. We could always go for something more...exotic?"
"Like...?"
Ghostbur thought for a second before a proud realization dawned on his face, "Zinnia! It sounds cool, plus it could be used for a she-wolf or a male!"
The wolf looked ahead of them, seeing a large mountain slanting up high, touching the darkness that held the moon. "Zinnia..." They paused, before saying assuredly, "Yeah."
"Yeah?"
Zinnia looked at Ghostbur, their shoulders becoming less tense and a smile gracing their features. "Yeah."
