Co-founders of the modern Snowstep Pack, Farley and Winter carved out a home for themselves just below the mountains, hoping to create a pack that properly looked after its own. Farley couldn't escape his past forever, though. Soon enough Winter had brought home a very yellow pup that was lost nearby. Dandelion had come from the same pack as Farley, and in fact had the same parents. She had been cast out and doomed to die young all because she shared Farley's pelt.
After a few years, Farley and Dandelion learned to get along, and together they made the decision to journey to their birth pack in the hopes of finding some closure. When they arrive, Farley insists on finishing the job he started years ago, and fights and kills the pack leader, their father, in a fair match. The rest of the pack asks if Farley intends to lead, but he denounces them, as there is no pride in leading a pack that allowed harm to come to its pups.
Farley and Dandelion begin the journey back to the Snowstep, however on the way their birth pack ambushes them. Farley protects Dandelion and allows her to escape unnoticed, and to buy her time, he faces against every single wolf from his birth pack. He did not make it home.
