Daunting arrived in the territory she has now claimed as a young female after departing from her mother. Being the sole surviving pup of a stillborn litter and daughter of a lone rogue that had never wanted to be pregnant, Daunting learned that confidence and self-assurance come from recognizing your own capabilities rather than your heritage.
After striking off on her own Daunting came across a combative golden male, Solar unwilling to lose his patch of hunting ground and den space to a new comer. They compromised to share the space and as the male realized her intelligence and the way that partnership facilitated survival, the two became inseparable friends.
Daunting and Solar met Flare, an older orange male who was dutiful and eager to please the two by helping to scout the area. He stuck around for awhile and the blue Alpha began to feel an odd maternal pressure as she grew older. The young female had a litter of three pups with Flare, though felt entirely overwhelmed by leading her small pack, remedying her partnership with Solar as her Beta, and raising the three. Flare, sensing the premature nature of their oddly matched relationship, took the three pups and disappeared from the territory.
Daunting threw herself further into the role of Alpha after the sad, but appropriate, loss of her first litter. She recruited new wolves and expanded her territory, growing closer in her partnership with Solar. At 3 years and 7 months she had a second litter with her Beta (Dusk and Burnt, solidifying their pair bond and the pack monarchy.
