Gentle, yet assertive, Briar is the daughter of the pack's late Pupsitter Matron, Morwen. She followed in her mother's footsteps and became a pupsitter for her pack. Though not as passionate as her mother was, Briar is good at her job and finds fulfillment training the youth of tomorrow. However, a part of her still yearns to find something special of her own to pursue. While she doesn't quite feel that she lives in her mother's shadow, she is daunted by others' comparisons of them, and wishes to separate her image from Morwen's. Briar resents the expectations others have for her performance - she is fine with being good enough, not necessarily an overachiever.
In her heart, Briar's true dream is to get away for a while and have a bit of an adventure, maybe even get in some trouble. She wants to be reckless, fall in love, even fight an enemy wolf. She keeps her desires to herself, however, for fear of inciting judgment from her peers. She looks up to her leader, Brigid, and deeply fears disappointing her.
Briar adopted the orphaned albino puppy, Yvaine, as her own child.
