0 months: Born in secret to Mistral, alongside 2 stillborn littermates. A few days after his birth, he is brought back to the Ashen Pack by his mother and Uncle Mullein. The pair pass him off as the pup of a deceased loner, and he is quickly adopted by Cloud. His markings remind her of a coyote, which her parents used to refer to as "kee-yotes", so she names him Kiyo. 

1 1/2 months: Now old enough to see and hear clearly, Kiyo meets his packmates. Coincidentally, he bears a strong resemblance to Cloud's adult pup Silt, and thus grows up believing that they are his biological sibling.

Unbeknownst to Kiyo, Mistral comes clean about his origins to the pack's leaders. They, Cloud and Silt are all aware that he is Mistral's son, but agree that he will still be raised as Cloud's child.

2 months: Cloud gives birth to a pup who is introduced to Kiyo as his younger brother. Kiyo takes his duties as older brother very seriously and guards the entrance of the Nursery, growling squeakily at passersby.
