Xena is the only offspring of Azar and Aayla to stay within the Tribe. Her brother, Storm, was deemed not worthy enough to remain in the Tribe due to his aggressive and demanding attitude.
This made her work harder to prove to her father that she would be the best version of herself, and she greatly looked up to Maddox, and he seemed to favour her as well.
When she was old enough, he took her on as an apprentice, teaching her the ways of a Finisher, and eventually, she took over his position when he passed.
