One of the first wanderers young Morchella met in the forest, the older Hericium was a valued guide and loyal supporter from the earliest days. He watched her first pups and mourned with her when the little snow-coloured one was lost. He became a mentor to Morel as her father's duty as sole hunter precipitated ever longer absences. When Morel was older, Heri would lend his strength to the hunt, and along with Agaricus and Oyster, would mentor young Ama and Enoki. Even in his twilight years, Heri caught the eye of the bright and capable Dapperling, and the pair were formally bonded with the full blessings of her mother, Ama. The bond produced no surviving pups, and Heri leaves Dapperling a very young widow.
The pack enjoyed nearly 3 full years of plentiful food and strong puppies with Heri's fortitude and wisdom at its core. Rest in peace, old wolf.
