First Gen Puppy (befriended)

Optimistic 🌟

He could always tell when morning was coming, even when it was dark out. The smell in the air, the birds waking before light and singing to their heart's content. 

However, in fall he would admit it was more difficult to tell. The birds stayed silent and the darkness stayed longer. But he knew his internal clock wasn't wrong.

As he plodded along, wondering if he'd ever find a pack to live in, he saw a female wolf up ahead. She came closer, and seemed friendly enough. It was obvious she was an alpha of some nearby pack, and he decided to go with her.

The problem was, she'd only been being polite and almost joking with the befriending process. She'd kinda thought she could just get him off her tail. Of course, she didn't have anything against him, but as he soon learned the pack was trying to prepare space for when their pups grew up and didn't have any for him.

However, seeing he could be useful, Amethyst let him stay and take on the only job they still needed, a herbalist. At least while he stayed, he could prepare medicine for the sick in the pack and they could always chase him off if they needed to.

For a long while, he stayed an outcast. Sleeping outside in all kinds of weather, living on the very edge of the clan, obediently doing everything Amethyst asked of him. Staying optimistic as always and hoping he could prove his usefulness.

After a lot of work, the clan was finally able to expand for the growing pups, and even him. Amethyst let him stay for a while, still sleeping outside and working with the healer bears often. 

One day, when he came back from doing a bit of research on a new remedy so he could remember it, Amethyst approached him. He figured she was going to send him off on another round of gathering even though he needed to get his strength back. However, he remained silent, but that wasn't what she'd come for.

She smiled as she plodded up to him, her tail swishing behind her in a relaxed way. He looked confused as she stopped in front of him.

She told him that she'd decided to let him become a permanent member of the pack. He'd be able to live in the main cave, and always be well fed and cared for, and he'd get to choose himself a name... Unless he liked one of her suggestions.

She gave him a ton of good picks she thought he might like... Aleko, Jax, Sorrel, but he thought the best one was Aiden. 

And so, he moved in with the other wolves and finally became part of a real pack.
