when Howler was brought into the pack by Alpha Snake no other pup dared get close to her. with her stocky build and incredible resilience, it was clear every pup was terrified. her presence alone made all the other pups behave, afraid they'd somehow anger the beast that's always silently observing. and so she stayed alone for quite some time before Rust, being the likeable pup she is, dared to try and befriend this strange pup. Rust quickly learned this pup was mute as she never got any answers to ger questions. or did she just not dare to speak? the mere thought of such a strong pup being afraid was ridiculous, she had to be mute! in reality Howler is just as afraid of the other pups as they are of her. she was an orphan for so long before Alpha Snake found her, she feared everything and everyone. Rust is trying to help her get more confident in herself. she also thought it hilarious to name her Howler, as she not even participates in the pack's night howlings.
