Biography
ART/ADOPT SPACE
Kabocha is Japanese for pumpkin, and he was indeed named this because of his pumpkin-colored fur.
Kabocha was the first ever healer. When he was assigned the rank of healer, may wolves were suffering from the flu. The newly-ranked healer worked hard and tirelessly, and eventually made everyone better. This earned him the recognition "The Legendary Healer." In his time helped cure many of his pack from any injuries or ailments, as well as helping with other minor sicknesses. To keep his mind at peace for when the next healer would come, Kabocha mentored an apprentice.
Despite his rank, Kabocha is very feisty, and usually would be selected for something like combat. He is rough-on-the-edges and almost always seems annoyed, making him a peculiar choice for a healer. He was selected as herbalist, however, and it was clear in the beginning that he did not enjoy his job. But as time progressed on, he found himself enjoying it. While he still showed some of these qualities to his patients, he was clearly a hard worker and very happy with where he was at.
After some time, Kabocha took up a pup to mentor so that he could be at peace knowing the next healer could care for the pack as well as he had. There were not many wolves to choose from, but he settled on the sole survivor of Keihi's tragic litter, Tamerikku, who was at the time an adolescent around 7 months. Kabocha took him under his wing and it was clear that the young wolf was very eager to learn. The two worked together very well, and Tamerikku admired Kabocha, who was his father figure. Kabocha says that Tamerikku is an annoyance, but secretly Kabocha has a soft spot for the healer apprentice, who reminds him of himself when he had been a young pup.
Kabocha was also Ken's playmate when the pup was around two or three months old. The healer was old (around seven years old at the time) and wasn't fond of many pups, but he loved to wrestle and Ken did too, so the two could be found wrestling. At one point, Kabocha had accidentally scratched the pups ear, giving Ken a small scar on his ear, but Ken didn't mind so the two still wrestled together. However, as Ken got older and became an adolescent, Kabocha got weaker and stopped wrestling with him.
No one quite knew what had happened to Kabocha when he had went out for a walk the previous night, and didn't return the next morning. Knowing the age of the wolf in question, Kobayashi and Sumoa hurried out to scout for him. Kobayashi had found him in a sunlit cave, similar to the healer's den, lying peacefully still. The orange wolf had passed on, and had gone to do so alone. Kobayashi carefully took his body back, where he was laid to rest next to Ren. Tammeriku makes sure to visit the gravesite every day and leave a different herb each time he comes. Kabocha watches over Tammeriku with a proud smile, knowing his pack was in good care. Perhaps, even better than his own. After all, Tammeriku was just as hard working as him, and the wolf had a heart of gold.
