Skuld

Skuld was raised in a practical pack with a stern father. Her mother died from birthing her and her sister, Octavia. Her father was never a soft male and he always made sure she knew her place. She and her sister were never given any special treatment or respect when they were born. Their father was harsh on them and always pushed them to be better and stronger. He was abusive in his ‘teachings’ and almost drowned the girls once. His way of seeing that they got stronger was hurting them and abusing them. The pack didn’t treat them well either. Under the command of the alpha the pack would hurt the girls any chance they had. Skuld and Octavia had to start from being omegas and work their way up the ranks. Skuld was the bigger of the two but Octavia was resourceful and rose quicker than Skuld due to her smarts. However, Octavia never wanted to be a leader. She wanted to be a herbalist so she could heal and help others.

   Their father, however, wanted Octavia to lead the pack after his demise. She refused and he threatened to banish her from the pack. When her sister chose to leave the pack Skuld followed her to start a pack with her sister as her herbalist. The two had talked about starting a pack together when they were just pups. Octavia wanted to call it Murklins which means “in the dark” whereas Skuld wanted to call it Falling Skies. Upon their banishment the two did start their own pack, bringing in anyone they could find. Phaedrus was the first to join. Long before anyone else joined the pack Octavia was murdered while they were traveling to their new home in the mountains. 

   When Skuld found her sister’s body away from their temporary camp she shut down emotionally. The she-wolf hasn’t opened up to anyone or brought anyone close to her since. If someone in her pack isn’t strong enough to survive or doesn’t have enough capability to support the pack they go. She’ll ruthlessly chase them out. Even her own pups. Skuld had pups with Phaedrus but upon seeing that they wouldn’t be able to contribute strong genes or strength to the pack she chased them out as soon as they became adolescents. Hallr and Isokrates were her children. If a pup doesn’t show potential at a young age she watches them before chasing them off when they’re an adolescent or adult. If the mother protests she reprimands or chases them out too. Skuld thinks she can’t afford weakness in her pack and will only tolerate those who prove their worth.

  Hiraeth was her first hunter and when he joined she worried that his gouged eye would become a problem. That he would prove to be weak. He proved her wrong and has since supplied her pack with plentiful food and leads the hunters. The rest of the pack began to fill out and Skuld remains the alpha of it all. She leads with a stern paw and cold demeanor to anyone other than Phaedrus. It’s not uncommon for her to adopt any pups she brings into the pack as her own. If they’re young, strong and don’t have any mother she’ll take them in to raise as her own although she still tends to be quite cold towards her adopted children.
