A young gray-ish wolf sat nicely besides a much larger, cream female. A still silence had long since fallen over the pair, the faint cry of birds and gentle rustle of the wind the only thing disturbing the moment. Gray eyes darted up to the light wolf, shifting before finally speaking with an air of nervousness. "Mother..? Why are we here?"
A few more moments passed, making the juvenile's ears pivot backwards. "Asha, it's time for you to choose your role in this pack. You need to remember that every job is important." A slow nod followed Zai's words, her tongue darting out to lick her nose. "I've noticed you trying to sneak out to follow Eclipse on hunts. Are you interested in helping chase prey?"
Another nod came from Asha, her small tail thumping softly against the ground. "Yes, Mother! Eclipse looks so cool when she runs after deer, and then Niahu jumps in and catches it." Her excitement was quite clearly radiating off her voice as she spoke of the older members of her pack, earning a soft laugh from her mother.
"That's good to hear, my cub. We're in need of a few more chasers, it would certainly help with ensuring we get enough food. You should catch up with the hunting party before they leave." Said the Alpha with a wink of her bright blue eyes. A sharp gasp sounded from the juvenile, springing to her paws. "Really? Oh, thank you, mother!" Too excited to say a farewell to her mother, the young wolf darted off, swiftly catching up to a golden colored female.
