“You must trust,” huffs the muddy faced wolf gently, “that I know what I’m doing,” as she carefully arranges dried bushels of herbs, all bright tops and straw colored bodies, into neat little rows. She hums to herself while working each bushel over carefully, and you feel your tense body start to relax despite yourself. Trust her? It’s seldom you can place that on a stranger.
She shows she trusts you too though, her back turned and mind distracted in creating a cure for whatever you managed to pick up on your lonesome adventures. You could easily do damage when she leaves herself prone, but she knows you won’t just as she hadn’t to you.
“I trust you,” you say back, almost to yourself. She returns with you to your pack when you are well enough to travel again.
