Biography
chirp (v.)
"make a short, sharp, happy sound like a bird," mid-15c. (implied in chirping), echoic, or else a variant of Middle English chirken "to twitter" (late 14c.), from Old English cearcian "to creak, gnash."
🐤 The chirpy, chatty, happy-go-lucky butch pupsitter of your dreams. Well, Vœu's dreams anyway. As a pup, they used to follow Noctis and Hræfn around intently, desperate to learn aviary secrets. But their relationship with birds is less symbiotic and more playful. Unlike their boisterous sister, Chirp has a knack for education and nurturing, and can often be found taking pups on field trips around the territory - even ones they weren't assigned to watch! (They've been written up by the babysitter's club for this A Lot.)
As Lacuna's grandchildren, Chirp and Sangui enjoyed a fair amount of prestige and attention when they were born, unlike Duin and Smogen. But following Vœu's example, their disdain slowly shifted into admiration for their plucky packmates. Perhaps, then, it's no surprise that Chirp often tries to ensure that the pups under their care learn to, well... care.
(If they were being honest, a part of them might be afraid that adult problems could never be solved as easily as the petty squabbles of their youth. Their dedication to their childrearing responsibilities might be, in fact, a convenient way to mask their fear of taking on greater responsibilities as a senior packmate, and perhaps even the responsibilities of - dare they say it - a parent? )
Vœu calls them Pigeon sometimes. Don't tell anyone.
