Pine, The 2nd Herbalist

Bio

The Autumnwood pack's second herbalist, Pine was the first of Ebony's puppies to stay. Though she didn't get much from her mother or father other than praise on the off times they rarely met, she found comfort taking on Beech's apprenticeship as an adolescent, accepting Beech as her mother-figure. She took her learning seriously, and even gained a fascination with all the creatures that roamed in due to the scents of Beech's herbs. 

After Beech had died, Pine took the role of herbalist and her younger sister Bean was born. She'd renovated the Herbalist's den, making it more suitable for her bug-buds. Pine looked after Bean for a while, telling her stories of Beech and how she felt doing well at her job. Bean, never having had much interaction from their parents either, relied on Pine greatly.

Years later, Ebony had brought back puppy after puppy from pack after pack. The newer wolves never bothered Pine. She'd even been delighted to meet them whenever they popped by her herbalist den. However, she saw how bitter Bean grew as Ebony gave more and more of her affection to those not of her own. She was confused at how Pine was unbothered by how their mother seemed to have time for every stray puppy, yet none for her own daughters. Pine always tries calming her, but fails to see that all Bean yearns for is a speck of acknowledgement from her own mother. 

Pine was quick to choose her apprentice, having only been four when she did; Cedar's daughter, Tiwaz. She was glad to find an adolescent with the same interest in insects as herself, and was happy to begin teaching her as soon as possible. Nothing brought Pine more pride than watching her apprentice be able to heal the Beta-team hunters while she was stuck at camp.

Personality

Pine is an obedient wolf with a fascination for insects. She believes there's nothing better than doing well at your role, and works hard as a result. Whether it be tending those with illnesses or wounds, fetching herbs, or tending to her bug pals, she's never at rest. Responsible and friendly to her pack-mates, Pine fails to register most other emotions besides "happy-go-lucky". Often times when she struggles on something, she deals with it alone, seeing as she fears bothering her pack on "menial" things.

Achievements

Before the rollover on March 18th, 2021, she single-handedly cured an outbreak of influenza that spread through the entire pack, including herself. She only took two days to do so, and the pack is very grateful for her services.
