A former hunter, he got sent to learn herbs by Hemlock; even all these years later he's a bit bitter about it, because he always felt it was forced upon him because he wasn't an especially good hunter. Which isn't to say he doesn't enjoy his job; he finds it satisfying work. But still, he feels like he was pushed into the role because Hemlock didn't like him, and is rarely allowed to take breaks. While his job was easier under Selena's rule, he still didn't like it very much and one day decided to leave. Unfortunately, he headed towards the high mountains, and the next anyone saw of him was his frost bitten icy corpse in the middle of a sunny warm field.
