Permafrost

-introduction-  

> the wolf looks at you cautiously as you approach him, staying silent as your eyes meet his. he decides, after a while, that you're no threat, and he relaxes, opening his mouth to speak. 

> "welcome, stranger. you have entered the tundra, the land my wolves and i have protected for generations. i am permafrost, the alpha of this realm." 

>  he studies you carefully, and his eyes close after a moment of thought. 

> "you are worthy, stranger. welcome to our world." 

-about permafrost- 

> he's a hybrid between an arctic wolf and a siberian husky, and wasn't born in the wild. he grew up around humans, but was plunged into the wild as an adolescent after the base in the tundra was destroyed by an avalanche. 

> having been raised as a dog, he never really knew about the customs and habits of wolves, and so was discriminated against by several of the other packs around in the tundra. there was a group of rogues in particular who pursued him for several seasons, and just when he was about to be killed, the tundra watchers came in and saved him. 

> since then, he has followed the tundra watchers, learning about their code and culture, and earned his spot as the alpha of the tundra's protectors through his comrades' mutual respect. 

-other facts- 

> he doesn't converse with people, choosing instead to only speak when absolutely needed. 

> he bonded with lichen over their shared past of being different, and eventually became mates with him. 

> he despises criminals, and will have a personal vendetta against rogue wolves who are known for acting unruly.
