Biography
Your wolf, Kogot, has lived his life to the fullest and is now up in the heavens! -- Favorite Wolf. Ever.
Kogot's pouch of herbs swung across his neck as he climbs the hill. He'd been searching since dawn for the medicinal herbs, flowers, and roots he needed in order to care for his ever-growing pack. He loved the quiet, the still of the morning, the soft sting of cold dew on the grass. Solitude was his treasure.
Plucking the last dandelion from the hillside to complete his list, Kogot sighs. He wasn't ready to give up his precious quiet for the wild, busy activity of his home, but he'd found everything he needed. It was time to return to Peschera.
He did not realize where his foraging had taken him, to the field of pups where surely Astri had stumbled upon Hamat and Juni only a few moons ago. Surely if he had then he would've been more eager to turn back. Pups were, after all, quite frequently the exact opposite of peaceful and rarely quiet.
But then there was a yelp, and a tumble of fur down the side of the hill. A pup had fallen, probably while playing, which was typical Kogot had found. But then little thing begins to cry, and Kogot hesitates, thinking that of course his sitters or Aunties will come to help him.
He was not expecting the little she-pup to come bounding down, to begin licking the little one's scrapes, and certainly he was surprised when she maneuvered under her friend beneath her, only to start carrying the pup up the hill on her back.
And he gets a memory. Of him and his sister Astri when they were pups, not long after the accident with their mother. When she'd fallen into the icy creek, after being too determined, too brave, and he'd had to carry her on his back, dripping and wet and sick, to the medicine den.
This pup...reminded him of that time. And the things he had promised. "Hello." He says to her, when she'd helped her friend, now smiling, back up to their feet. His voice is quiet. "I...am...Kogot. You have the heart of a healer..." This was true. "I...am...looking...for an apprentice." This was not true. He'd not wanted one every time Astri had asked him to take one of the pups from the cave under him as a student. They're all too silly, too loud, too much.
But something pulls him to this little pup, something hinting at Fate, and so, he must ask. "I have medicine to give your pack and elders should you decide to join me. One healing salve and 10 silver cones..."
Kamalas heart were doing jumping jacks in her chest. She has always want to help make medicine. The big wolf in front of her was giving her this opportunity and she was going to take it. " Kogot. I am Kamala. I have always dreamed of being a herbalists." She smiles at him. "This is such a huge opportunity and accpte your offer!" (Congratulations, Kamala has Accpted your offer. I will set up a trade once she is weaned from her mother)
Eight Moons Later...
He broke. Every part of him. The ringing truth. A failure, failure, failure.
His fault, he brought her. His fault, he had failed her.
Brother...
He ran deeper, deeper, deeper in to forest. Past the scented trees. Into the black bear kin's territory. Crushing soft, tender herbs carelessly underpaw. Healing herbs. Hurting herbs.
A failure, failure, failure.
She'd trusted him. Trusted him to take care of her...
Now. She was dead.
