She was a lone wolf, wandering aimlessly through the depths of the Deciduous Forest in search of a pack to call her own. She was lost, chased away from her home and desperate for a second chance. For days she had stumbled through the trees, meeting other lone survivors as well as the occasional pack leader but they all turned her away. Her malicious personality worried them. They doubted she would be a good fit for their pack or might lower their chance of being accepted into one. Until she happened upon Cassius, a trusting leader just founding his own pack with his sociable partner, Assiah. Unlike the others, they did not doubt that she would make a grand addition to their fledgling group. They welcomed her in and bestowed upon her a name, something she had been denied as a puppy. She would now be known as Tasha, and she would be a scout for the new Celestials of Evershine.
Tasha relished her new home and family and dutifully undertook her new position. She went out scouting each day, often several times a day, exploring the territories surrounding her forever home. She was able to watch the new pack grow and prosper, taking in wolves of all personalities and backgrounds. Many wolves stayed with the expanding pack, although some found the belief of the founder and his mate to be childish and intolerable. thus they rejected the offer to stay. She didn't, however, even finding the idea of a starry afterlife appealing.
On Saturday, July 10th, 2021, Tasha awoke in the early morning to see the grass through her shimmering paws. She had lost her earthly, opaque color and her coat was adorned with the same stars she had spent many nights looking up at. Her time had come, and although she was sad to be the first of her pack to depart for the stars she knew she would not be the last. Soon others would join her, watching their family from among the stars just as Cassius had promised them. She was willing to wait for them, no matter how long it would take.
