Biography
"Fuck, yes!" Skade exclaimed as she and the rest of the hunting team came up to Agnar and the huge moose on the ground. "You did it again, Agnar," Bergljot said and nudged him. Korp just stood there and smiled at him. "I would never get any moose without all of you helping me, you know that," Agnar couldn't help but smile, though. "The alpha is talking of moving us back to the mountains, none of the other hunting teams are taking home moose bulls like this, don't discredit yourself!" Skade grinned at him. Agnar nodded and humbly accepted the praise, but he knew it couldn't be to his credit. Majora was a much more experienced finisher than him, but her team still wasn't bringing in moose bulls. It must be because of his whole team.
-
Stretching after a hunt, he heard a low growl, intimidating enough for a chill to run down his spine. It didn't happen often that Agnar would be scared, he knew he could take on anything. But this one.. He turned around to see white shining eyes in the shadow. Agnar lowered his head in suspicion and watched. Out of the shadow stepped Skade, the only wolf anyone could be scared of. Her cold white stare was usually friendly toward Agnar, but this time they were very much not. Skades figure almost looked one with shadow as she walked out into the light as if from nowhere. Even though Skade had her head raised high and Agnar had his lowered, they could look eye to eye, as Agnar was naturally much bigger than her. Her size didn't take away from her intimidation, everyone was always respectful to her out of fear of the consequence. Yes, she was scarier than the late alpha, Tyr. It didn't help that she had been the second in command.
"What's wrong, Skade?" Agnar looked her in the eye, prepared. She was usually kind to Agnar, but you can't be careful enough. Skades eyes softened and Agnar relaxed, lifting his head.
"I heard of you courting my little syster, the alpha," Skade came closer and sniffed him suspiciously, "You're aware that I will be watching you closely?"
"You don't want your syster to be happy?" Agnar followed her around with his eyes.
"Is it a coincidence that you and her started spending time together just now, after she became alpha?" Skade rounded him slowly.
"Yes, it is," Agnar responded frankly.
"It has nothing to do with stealing the beta position from Vår, or having your pups be the next alpha," she paused and stopped walking, "Or assasinating the alpha?"
"No!" Agnar was shocked at the thought, "I would never! I care for her."
"Just wanted to make sure," Skade walked back into the shadows, "that you know I'm here to protect her, that is."
-
Some years later Agnar was sitting with Gerd by a rock with Skades name on it. Gerd cried while Agnar tried to comfort her silently.
-
"Really? You want to have pups again?" Agnar was so confused, his mate had her first pups at her fourth or fifth heat and after their failed litters she had seemed very uninterested in having more offspring, "I thought you said you're satisfied with having Gadd?"
"I love her but I'm not satisfied, Agnar," Gerd said calmly, and looked at him as if she was offended, "I want to have as many pups as possible from you!"
Agnar looked at his love with soft eyes.
"No I mean, you know, I want you and me to have a big family, is all!" Gerd exclaimed, but Agnar was amused by her nervousness, so he kept looking at her suspiciously and she kept talking, "I'm not going to go find another mate after you!"
"Oh, honey," Agnars eyes widened in realisation, and he sat down calmly next to her, "listen. I don't mind if you choose someone else after I'm.. gone. As a matter of fact I want you to have as many pups as possible as well, with or without me."
Gerd looked down and seemed saddened, and Agnar understood that Gerd had finally understood that every wolf dies at some point, and that her mate was a few years ahead of her in that regard. The death of her older sister had really hurt her. Agnar licked her cheek lovingly.
"Well..," she spoke quietly, "I still want them from you first."
And Agnar was not one to decline such a request from such a lovely wolf.
