Polaris

Polaris fumbled his way through leading the pack for the first time.  Tala directed him for the very basics, but he was mostly on his own.

Over time he slowly got together a few other misfit wolves and started a small pack with them. His only rules were no mouth goes hungry, and no pup dies as long as it could be avoided.

Moving from the Mountains for the first time led him to exploring the rest of the lands with his pack. It wasn't as safe to stay in one spot, but along the way they started picking up stray pups in need of a home. Some stayed, some left once grown to find a pack of their own, and some become breeders for the pack.

The pack grew, and the Dreamlands opened. Exploring it felt surreal, dreamlike even, but the experience changed the leader. Bright blue mystical spots reminder of the lands appeared on his coat, mesmerizing the youngest pups.

Nearing the end of his time, Polaris knew he needed to pick a successor. Of all the pups under his pack's care, one newborn stuck out the most.

She had these sharp, Azure eyes and the same blue spots on her coat like his own.

"I'll call you Stargazer, for you will grow to look to the stars for guidance as you find your way."

One sister, a vibrant deep red pup looking like a perfect mix   of both their moms, declared she wanted to stay too.

In his last days, the pack moved. back to the Taiga so hunting wouldn't be so difficult for the seasons to come, and Polaris spent his final days training and teaching Stargazer everything he had learned over his years.
