Biography
The youngest child of Athena and Ra. She came as a surprise to the other wolves, as Athena had never shown any desire to have any more children. Ra was right by Athena’s side while she gave birth, and made sure to comfort the young pups. The two made sure to spend as much time with their children as possible.
Nike wasn’t the only pup in her litter, but she was the only one who wanted to remain in the pack. The other two were scared of what they would have to live up to. Their mother, the noble pack leader. Their two famed hunter sisters. Their lovable dad. Nike didn’t care about the expectations placed upon her. She was a lazy wolf, and felt going off to explore was too much effort.
She refused to take up a role. In her eyes, she didn’t need to. It was well known that her mother was close to the end, and would need a replacement soon. Both Isis and Nephthys were nearly as old as their mother, so Nike knew the role would go to her. Athena had made many hints towards it.
Until it was clear she wasn’t to be.
Athena had been thinking. She did love her youngest, but Athena felt Nike wasn’t fit to lead the pack. She was lazy, and had never had a pack role. Bellona, Horus and Hestia had voiced their concerns about what would happen if Nike became the Leader. Athena had taken their concerns to heart, and tried to break it kindly to Nike.
Nikephoros didn’t take kindly to it. She would often roam the forest to escape responsibilities, just finding a nice hollow and sleeping, but she decided to run as far away from the pack as possible. During her adventures, she ran across many other packs, and had a lot of fun. During her expeditions, something made her turn around and return home. When she did, however, she regretted her moment of weakness. Athena, Isis and Nephthys went off on her, berating her for leaving. She had a family to help support! Nike snapped back, informing how close they were to never seeing her again. She was prepared to storm right back out into the forest when she collapsed. Energy surprisingly low, she consented to being taken to the scrying stone.
She was pregnant. Everyone was shocked at the news. Nikephoros not only travelled far away to visit other packs, but she fell pregnant?
Athena, however, was delighted. A pregnant Nikephoros meant grandchildren. Ones that would hopefully not inherit their mother’s attitude. While pack members congratulated the to-be mum, Athena plotted.
Months later, it was time for the puppies to be born. Athena stayed with Nike through the whole event, and was the second one to cradle the four new pups. Athena marvelled at her grandchildren, three having blue markings that reminded her of the Dreamlands.
Nike loved her children, trying to spend as much time as possible with them. She enthusiastically accepted the role of pupsitter Athena placed onto her, willing to be anything that would let her stay with her puppies.
She was hurt when her mother suggested one of her children become lead. However, some piece of rationality had come to her after her pregnancy. She agreed, somewhat aware her children would do a better job leading than her.
Years passed. She did little to control her rowdy children, leaving the work to Athena. She mourned her mother when the time came, and praised her son Serapis when he became the leader. She kept the pupsitting role, and befriended a wolf who came, and created a similar story to her own. She mourned her sisters when they eventually passed.
She never changed her lazy ways, still sneaking out into the forest whenever she could.
