Machiavellian joined the Grimhallow pack as an adult. He was recruited primarily because of his strength and striking odd coloured eyes, which prompted Misneach to think he was connected to the prophecy of The Sight. 

Machiavellian did not in fact have any connection to the prophecy, nor did he possess any aptitude for magic indicative of having The Sight. However, he is a silver-tongued master manipulator, with enough knowledge of the Dreamlands to pose as a Guide - assisting Misneach with her newly discovered Dreamwalker abilities. He has sweet-talked his way into Misneach's den as well as the dens of several other pack females.

His daughter, Mishka, and his son, Lórcan, currently lead the pack together - enabling Machiavellian to continue his Casanova ways and wind down into graceful retirement, while also smoothly shutting him out of any leadership decisions. After all, they are their father's children, and he has inadvertently taught them all his tricks. They know how to play the manipulation game, and come out on top. 

Machiavellian is both proud and annoyed in equal measure, as while they are his greatest achievement and his true successors, they also refuse to be under his control and are leading the pack as they see fit. At the very least he has ensured that his legacy lives on through siring many other offspring...
